The Voice star Michael Duchesne warms up for EP debut

Former Voice Australia contestant Michael Duchesne is set to bring on the Christmas cheer at an intimate jazz venue in Surry Hills on Thursday 4 December.

Duchesne, who’s run on Channel 9’s record-setting talent show The Voice, saw him on Team Seal in the shows first season says he was incredibly lucky for the opportunity.

“The Voice was an amazing experience for me,” he said.

“It’s definitely given me the confidence to pursue my love for music.”

Since his Voice experience, Duchesne has travelled around the world spreading his love for music, especially in his native country South Africa.

He also starred as a support artist for Grammy award nominee Eric Benet, Chantae Cann (The Foreign Exchange, Snarky Puppy) and Hot Chocolate.

Duchesne’s music influences includes Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Quincy Jones and Earth Wind & Fire and his EP ‘Take Me’ has the same soulful, vibrant and exciting melody that will have you smiling throughout his performance.

The vocalist and songwriter says he loves his 80’s sound of music.

“My sister and I have completely different taste in music, while she loves her contemporary style of music, I love my 80’s music,” he said.

“My music experience has been shaped by amazing artists like Stevie Wonder for many years.”
